So a bit over a year ago (before I started this blog), I did a couple of portraits. I learnt most of what I know about it because of several books my parents got me about drawing portraits.
But then, I sort of stopped doing them – until now! I decided to do a drawing of myself, partly because I can easily find a photo of me with good lighting, etc.
Anyway, I was sort of blown away myself because they were much better than the sort of drawings I had done a year ago.
I think one of the main things that went well with this drawing is that I have achieved a very good likeness (you probably won’t be able to tell because you haven’t seen many photos of me, but I can!).
Another thing is that the shading looks very interesting. I haven’t relied on my blending stump as much as I have done in the past, which really worked to my advantage.
Thanks for reading! If you enjoyed this post, please feel free to give me any advice, tips, or comments that you would like to!
